Think Ocean partnered with the ROLE Foundation on a beach cleanup activity. 381 kg of waste from Kedonganan Beach last week. Most of it was plastic, left behind by fishermen and visitors. From October, the Bali government will roll out new waste management rules, so this should assist with more circular economy initiatives and appropriate waste disposal. In addition to the cleanup which engaged 45 community members and volunteers, we are also collaborating to educate more more students through the Kids Environmental Classroom programme. A total of 878 students engaged in the Kids Environmental Classroom (KEC) and ZeroWaste Goes to Schools (Z-GTS) programmes, teaching about environmental protection and projects such as UPSTREAM. In addition to this, 32 students took part in the Environmental Program that teaches about sustainable practices and waste management, as well as how to apply this knowledge in their daily lives. Topics covered included the 6Rs (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair, and Rot), and information on programmes such as Horizon and projects such as UPSTREAM.
