VITOpolis is a temporary experience center (from our partner VITO) dedicated entirely to sustainable technology. Through engaging and interactive modules, visitors explore sustainable solutions in areas like the economy, housing, waste management, and fashion.
During the Dag van de Wetenschap (Day of Science) on 24 November 2024, in Mol (Belgium), our colleague Milica Velimirović, from VITO, represented the UPSTREAM project alongside other EU projects/initiatives, engaging citizens in plastic pollution awareness through a specially designed word puzzle. Addressed key questions such as “How can citizens help reduce plastic litter?” while highlighting the project’s contributions to tackling the issue.
Around 150 citizens participated in the event, enjoying an interactive and educational experience on the importance of plastic pollution, its global impact, and how technology supports a sustainable, plastic-free future for a healthier planet.
The word puzzle remained at VITOpolis until the end of December, reaching approximately 500 high school students during their visits.
